The Institut Panos Paris was established
in 1986 as a non governmental organisation focusing on giving
support to media pluralism.
Its work stems from the conviction that information and media
pluralism are essetnial for democracy, peace and citizenship.
The Institut Panos Paris endeavours to foster a media environment
that reflects the diversity of our contemporary societies, where
all communities, including the most marginalised, are able to
express their points of view, exert their influence and contribute to
local and international public debates.
During the period 2007-2010, three main programmes are
being implemented in Europe, in Central Africa and in
the MENA region (Middle East / North Africa) respectively.
International migrations and Media (Migration)
Pluralist media for peace and democracy (Central Africa)
Media in the Mediterranean (Med en Med)
The Institut Panos Paris has been working for 20 years and is a founding
member of the Panos Council,
an international network of eight Panos Institutes, operating on four
continents.
